The final chapter of Conversations in Place for 2015 will explore the intersection of popular culture and the imagination of Southern California with moderator William Deverell, Chairman of the History Department at USC and Director of the Huntington-USC Institute on California and the West. He will be in conversation with Judy Baca, one of the nation?s leading muralists, best known for her large-scale public art works, including ?The Great Wall of Los Angeles?; Carolina A. Miranda, an award-winning critic and commentator who is staff writer for the Los Angeles Times; Rob Reynolds, an acclaimed artist whose work forges connections between art production and historical material; and Sarah Schrank, Professor of History at California State University, Long Beach whose many publications include her book, Art and the City: Civic Imagination and Cultural Authority in Los Angeles. Parking for the event will be at California State University, Long Beach Lot 11A, enter at "CSULB PRKG" off of Palo Verde Avenue, between Atherton and University Drive. Parking and continuous handicap accessible shuttle service to and from the Rancho are free of charge.
