Berlin Bistro, The Art Theatre and Dine LBC Partner for Fundraiser Benefiting Food Finders. ?Just Eat It. A Food Waste Story.? is a lively, funny and thought-provoking 97-minute film produced in 2014 by filmmakers and food lovers Jen Rustemeyer and Grant Baldwin. The pair dive into the issue of food waste from farm, through retail and restaurants, all the way to the back of their own fridge. After catching a glimpse of the billions of dollars of good food that is tossed each year in North America, they pledge to quit grocery shopping and survive only on discarded food for six months. What they find is truly shocking. Read more about the film here: http://www.foodwastemovie.com/ The Art Theatre will screen the film on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at 11am. The Art Theatre is donating the theater and Dine LBC is procuring the license to screen the film. To further the effort to reduce waste, popcorn and soft drinks will be available for purchase during this screening and the Art Theatre encourages movie goers to bring their own bowl and reusable cup to be filled. Following the film at 1:30pm, Berlin Bistro Executive Chef Tim Balen will present a unique coursed ?Root-to-Stem? lunch made primarily from fresh vegetable and fruit scraps, along with other perfectly edible food products that are typically discarded as unusable. The lunch will take place at Berlin Bistro at 1pm. Proceeds from the screening of ?Just Eat It. A Food Waste Story.? will be donated to Food Finders.
