We are looking for photographs taken in Long Beach ? letters ? journals - diaries - printed materials ? documents - pay stubs - event programs. Contributors can enjoy refreshments while HSLB staff makes copies of their treasures. The HSLB is collecting historical materials related to the direct effects on Long Beach as a result of the 1941 Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor. The United States? entrance to World War II had far-reaching effects on Long Beach. This project will explore changes to the local infrastructure, economy, and community. Some items collected will be used in an exhibition that opens on December 7, 2016, the 75th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
